Top secret cards

I made some very fun cards today but they are top secret for a few weeks. They are for my sister's birthday at the end of the month and I don't want to spoil the surprise as she sometimes visits this blog.

I did manage to squeeze in another card using Bird on a Branch. Ginger Blossom is one of my favorite DPs and, even though it is retired, I love using it wherever I can.

I do have a question for my fellow stampers. Do you have a set that you bought thinking it would be wonderful only to find that you get some kind of mental block when you try to use it? My "problem" set is Cheers to you. Whenever I try to use it, the cards are just truly boring. I browse the SCS gallery but still can't seem to translate the ideas I get into anything great.

  1. Gorgeous card. And yes, I've purchased more sets than I can count thinking they would be DIVINE only to struggle to do ANYTHING with them. "Life's a Breeze" comes to mind. :sigh:

  2. Your card is truly beautiful!! You are right that was a good paper pack. I hate sometimes how are paper seems to go away so fast :( And yes I know exactly what you mean about sets you think will be wonderful only to receive them and draw a complete and utter blank. "Wanted" was that way for me, I see good ones in the gallery but mine always come out looking the SAME.

  5. Love the card. What talent you have! I can think of quite a few sets where I lose my inspiration. I think I make a card that I love with the set and then can't get past the mental image of it and move onto re-arranging it or trying something new. Like each stamp can only make one type of card!

  6. I know this is last weeks' post but I do try to read all of them. And yes, I do agree that I've bought stamp sets that I just can't get an image and scrounging through SU and SCS to get ideas drives me NUTS! Why can't I be as creative as you guys???!! I'm gonna start keeping an idea book with me at all times!!!
